I went on a little Road trip down the Portuguese coast 🇵🇹

Okay so, I'm feeling a little nostalgic about my last summer vacation! This means we're gonna have a little throwback hehe This summer me and my friends decided to do a little road trip down the Portuguese coast (from north, Oporto, to south, Portimão)and it was an awesome idea!

We crashed in camping sites and when we couldn't find a place we would just sleep in the car (have you ever eaten canned tuna? well, imagine we were the tuna). We passed cities like Figueira da foz, Peniche, Nazaré, Sesimbra, Sines, Lagos etc.. (we also travelled to the wild Nazaré Berlengas islands, but this is a whole nother story, and wild one haha which I will talk about in the near future).

I just recently realised that this is my favourite type of vacation (this last trip of course had a huge roll in this realisation)! Just leave home, no plans, no destination, just a few beers and some friends!! We ended up being away from home for 15 days and let me honestly say, that we would stay "homeless" forever if we had the money haha (it turns out being" homeless" is not that cheap when you are a group of overexcited teenagers) 😅
I'll be leaving you a few panoramic photographs that I took in what was probably my favourite beach during this trip! A little hidden site in Praia dos Caneiros, Lagos (I strongly recommend it, that is, if you can climb the little rope that is it's only access! And I'm sure you can (that's what a group of 5 local seniors, 70 y/o maybe, told us after zooming past us in a hurry, making it look like a piece of pie!!!).

Nice Post @whynotas! We have made a similar roadtrip through Portugal and is was wonderful! We traveled with a small rental car and our tent and we drove from Faro all the way up oto the border to Spain. We met lovely people ate great local food and love the coastline AND the mountains in the North. A absolutely beautyful country with even nicer people in it!
Thanks mate 😄 I appreciate the compliments (both to my country and my post haha) I think Portugal has loads of potential tourism-wise, maybe on of the best destinations in Europe but the people that manage this are complete A** holes!!! Although I'm really glad you enjoyed it hehe
And of course, the city you most enjoyed was Oporto I bet!! (my city hehe)

We stayed in Porto only for three days, but we loved it, right :) Coimbra was very lovely aswell! But when we dicovered Peneda-Gerês we were blown away! We wrote a little about the phantastic region in our latest Post about Peneda-Gerês. We will definetly come back to Portugal.

Also, a friend of mine has a summer house in Gerês, so I know exactly what you are talking about! There aren't many places in Portugal that get you that close to nature!! It's beautiful!

Portugal has more sunny days that any other country in europe, with a average of 300 sunny days / year its not a suprise that we still see a lot of turists even at the peak of winter.. what are you waiting for? 8th january, 16ºC sunny day :)

hehehe Nao reparei não!! Entao nao temos, a malta vem la de fora com temperaturas negativas, chegam ca apanham um dia daqueles com sol de inverno ate se passam, o turismo tem os seus pontos bons e maus, mas pronto é o que temos, temos de aproveitar!!
