Beauty In Decay
I guess some would call this a happy accident...
When I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2016, I didn't really know how to process the news. Sure... I knew what "it" was, a disease that many suffered from. But of course, when you're living it...it's different right? I won't bore you with those details, but rather... how I decided to deal with it....don't give up!
We live out in the boonies...well, not in the city. So getting outside, helps me forget about "it"... and what better to do outside?... plant flowers! We have a local business that will offer discounts on flowers, before the season is up. We took advantage; these poor petunias were on their death bed (not dirt bed....*drum flam) so we figured...why not? The other half and I, saw the vision of what they 'could be'...she lovingly pruned them back, and here is the result.
We captured rain water (as you can see in the water jugs) and figured that was the best we could do...they were dirt cheap (more puns!) so didn't feel we were out anything, if they didn't end up blooming. In the end, they turned into something beautiful, and was also a way to get outside, feel the sun, and of course enjoy this...
...happy accident.
