Weekend out Strawberry picking
One of the best things about living in Perth, Western Australia is the lifestyle! Just a 30mins drive from the city and you find yourself in little paradise where you can go into a strawberry farm to pick and eat strawberries!
It costs $2 per person to enter and a 5kg box costs $10. So for a party of 4 we went in for $18; walked out with 5kgs of strawberries and had all you can eat inside the farm as well.
Just look at the large expanse of land along with the beautiful blue skies that form the backdrop! What a great surrounding and perfect weather to spend the day out.
One thing I learned about strawberry picking is to pluck the strawberries with part of the stalk still attached so that they last longer after the picking.
What I really like about these farms is that you get to learn and teach children about farming and the importance of it in our heritage and history. Too many times things are learned via handphones and ipads these days.

Yum! I love strawberries and strawberry picking. I also miss cheap strawberries. They are all imported in Panama so expensive.

Strawberry season in Perth is a lot of fun, and the strawberries are delicuous too. They can be used to make excellent jams with what you can't eat. I must get my family out there before the good ones are gone.

At such a good price too! In Singapore we have to pay $10 for a box of 500g.... 😞

sweet strawberries on a hot day make my heart fonder, this is awesome, i grew up in a farm so i know what it means to farm, it great they are teaching kids how to farm and the hard work that goes with it. lessons for life
