Visiting Vanga

Rupite is a village in Southwestern Bulgaria in the community of Petrich. Vanga herself was born in Macedonia, studied in Serbia, lived after marriage in Bulgarian Petrich, but she received visitors and built her famous church in the town of Rupite (not to be confused with the village of the same name). It is 8 kilometers from Petrich - in the crater of the extinct Kozhukh volcano, from which to our times there is only one wall left.

His gift of clairvoyance Wang found in April 1941

The monastery complex of Vanga with the temple "St. Petka Balgarska" is located in the area of Rupite, three kilometers from the village of Rupite.

In the 70s, Wang built a house here. She considered it a place of power. She said that in ancient times the local volcano Kozhukh destroyed with its eruption a large ancient city. And in honor of the dead, she asked to build a large cross on the remaining dais from Kozhukh. What is interesting, on the other hand, Kozhukh, recently dug up the ruins of an ancient city.

The Vanga Foundation, founded by her, built this memorial cross in 2009. The cross has a length of 30 meters and a width of 15. Everyone who climbs on it (there are steps) repeats the path of Christ to Calvary.

Monument to Vanga. It was put here for the centenary of her birth on October 3, 2011. Made and donated by Professor Emil Petrov.

In general, the whole complex was finally completed only in 2014, and they began to build it from the temple - in 1992. Wanga died August 11, 1996.

The grave of Vanga is located a couple of meters from the temple under the persimmon.

Wanga did not have any sisters / brothers — only step-children, no children — only adopted ones, but a serious struggle was waged for her inheritance. Because over the years of its activity, it has accumulated serious wealth, which Bulgaria has bequeathed to the state.

The temple of St. Petka began to build in 1992, after Vanga had a dream about this saint, and built in two years.

He fully erected for gifts and gratuitously painted by the artist Svetlin Rusev, who was invited by Wang herself.

The internal painting of the temple is absolutely not consistent with the Orthodox canons, because of this, the clergy persistently refused to cover the temple. But for the holiday "Petkovden" Wang still persuaded them.

A semicircle is located around the temple hotel complex, sort of like for the monks, but they are not here. This is a monastery without monks. Also in this gallery there is a baptismal room and an exhibition hall with materials about Vanga. It was opened in 2012.

Bamboo can not tear

Vanga's house was built in the 70s. Then she sought solitude and draw strength. Until 1994, she spent only one day in this house, and in the evening she returned to her Petrich. But after 1994, due to poor health, she began to live here permanently.

Then she wrote her will - all gave Bulgaria.

Here she established the foundation "Vanga" and presented him the temple "Sveta Petka Balgarska" in 1994.

In March 2014, this house was opened to visitors.

This thing is called cheshma. It was made by sculptor Leda Starcheva and presented to the Snezhana Botusharova Foundation in 2012. Local thermal water runs from cheshma - + 75С. This water has a high content of sulfur and fluoride, so it is not recommended to use it without a doctor's prescription. It treats skin diseases, discopathy and kidneys.

The park of the complex occupies 23 hectares, 5,000 trees and bushes were planted here, among them quince, persimmon and bamboo.

Next to the mineral lakes there is a pen with peacocks, and in the lakes themselves there are fish and turtles. The fish does not seem to be in very hot water, but the turtles are almost boiling I am at a loss as to how they swim there :)

Also there is a cafe, but we have never been there. I forget about him at every visit.

Entrance to the monastery is free. Everything is free and everything can be photographed.

In front of the complex there is a free parking and a toilet. On the territory of the complex is a terrible number of cats, beggars. They look good and give themselves to iron, but they eat everything, even corn sticks.

Thank you for your time and attention.
