Chilling out by the Riverbanks of the Isar River, in Munich

in #photography6 years ago (edited)

Today, I return with a great set of photos to compliment my post from yesterday, where I've published a photo of a view of these riverbanks, taken from a Bridge.

I found it incredible to see so many people hanging out by the riverside, relaxing and having a good time with their friends and families... and pets, in some cases.

These guys were my favourites, as they had brought the whole living room with them:

Yep, they brought chairs, tables... and even sofas! These guys take their leisure times pretty seriously!

These riverbanks are a perfect relaxing place, since the River Isar doesn't run very strong at this place, so people feel pretty safe and comfortable, sitting right next to the running waters.

Some were even playing with their gadgets... without a care in the world:

This next bunch of friends was quite amusing to watch. They were sitting at an island, with water flowing all around them:

They even had a crate of beers, cooling off in the river itself:

However, it seems the gang was not complete... Shortly after, a couple more appeared, with another crate of beers:

First, they took their shoes off and rolled up their pants, so they could cross the river without wetting them:

Their friends were waiting... and the beers were warming up, so they had no time to lose. The guy on the right was a bit impatient, waiting for his pal to roll up his pants:

Here's a video of them crossing the waters and placing another crate of beers chilling in the waters.

Just across the river, this guy was resting at the shade, he couldn't care less about the noise coming from the group of beer drinking teenagers:

At intervals, he would stop resting to read a bit more of his newspaper:

Some people preferred to relax as close to the water as possible, to enjoy the views:

A little girl and her mother were having fun feeding the ducks:

Others preferred to stay a bit farther away, having a picnic in the grass:

IMG_5295.JPG

In fact, it seems that having a picnic was one of the favourite activities. Here we have a mother and a little girl comfortably enjoying their picnic spot:

Next, we have a complete family, baby included. They had chairs, tables, and a lot of food and drinks:

And finally, another couple of families enjoying a picnic with their children. Yep, that's a portable grill they're using. Everyone was happy, no kids screaming nor complaining at all. A perfect scene.

As you see, keeping it simple is not an option. It seems the local motto was "If you're going to do it, you gotta do it well."

my god...do many nice photos! :-)

Thanks! Or as they would say over there: Danke Schoen! 😋

Very interesting!
I even saw a wheelchair. It's from a company with a full set of furniture.

They were so well accommodated I almost thought they lived under the bridge. 😮

I never said that. Do you even remember my name?

I guess I just forgot... It's almost time for supper though so I suppose I will eat then.
