A Few Clandestine Shots at the Šiauliai Bicycle Museum (Lithuania)
Tonight, I'm publishing a few photos that I shouldn't have taken.
I was visiting the Bycicle Museum with a friend, in the town of Šiauliai, and the lady who watched over the museum said "No Photos Allowed". We said OK but we did't mean it. No, not even a bit. The bikes inside were too cool to be kept hidden from the outside world. So, we managed to take a few shots while she was distracted looking at the other visitors. 🙃
Yeah, she also said "no touching" but my friend doesn't like being told what (not) to do. 😂
This museum has a big variety of bicycles, including some children's bikes. This room shows some old, but not very old bikes. I guess they are from the 80's and 90's.
Here's the other side of the room. Apart from a couple of exceptions, these are not very interesting, from a historical point of view. Maybe in 50 years, they will feel more special.
The museum keeper was always on top of visitors, our leech wasn't very long. But that didn't stop me from taking a single shot of one of the most interesting rooms.
Yep, that strange wooden bike on the left is a real model. At some point in time, that was a novelty!
Can you imagine riding that?
I was admiring some old bikes when I listened to my friend whispering:
− Psssst, come here. You want to take a shot of me riding this crazy bike?
− Are you mad? - I asked - The lady will throw us out!
− Be quick, then! What are you waiting for?
As you can see, we were young and we wanted to set the world on fire. 😂
What a strange contraption, isn't it? It looks like a fan attached to a few pipes. Weird looking or not, it really worked.
To this day, I'm not quite sure of what kind of bike this was. It looks like one of those exercise bikes, that people put in a bedroom... on the other hand, it had wheels. Uh? 🤔
We had a great time and we got away without being caught. We felt like spies when we crossed the door. Ah ah! I'd do it all over again!

It's been a while for me, too. We should go there again! But with Steem being worth just $0.15, we can't even afford the taxi to the airport, let alone the plane ticket. 😲

That is some special museum!! And you did manage to take "a lot" of photoes that you shouldn't have...You better hope the lady isn't on Steemit!! That last bicycle on the last photo looks more as if it belongs in a gym....
