Road Trip to Oudtshoorn - Part Four
It is a very enjoyable drive to Oudtshoorn, especially if one drives along the famous Route 62 road. I have been talking about our trip which three previous posts (the nature, the animals and dining out) and today I just want to show our accommodation experience.
Route R62 – Swartberg (Black Mountains) range

On arrival we were pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful, quiet nature spot with a stream running past our cabin

We strolled around exploring the area which was really idyllic
Much to our initial dismay was the discovery that we had NO cell phone or data signal. We were cut off , but later this turned out to be a blessing as we relaxed into the serenity of our environment
I forgot to mention the main reason for our trip was for my lady to run the Cango Caves Marathon the following day. Well our accomodation was exactly at the half marathon start

The Cango Caves Marathon is hosted by the military and is superbly organised on the day. The support along the route was tremendous

After a shower and recovery nap a simple lunch before setting out to explore the area (as shown in my previous posts)

That cabin and the stream look wonderful.
It really is a beautiful spot and so tranquil. At first when I discovered no signal I was upset as I wanted to do a Steemit post that night on our days travels.... but once I settled down on the patio with the babbling brook, a glass of wine and my book ... I was in paradise

Thanks @dumar022, it really is beautiful and has wide open spaces, diverse bird life and for Europeans and Americans it is very reasonable on the pocket due to our weak currency.
