Steemit Photo Challenge #17 - The Canyons of Ghoufi or Ghoufi Balconies

Ghoufi (or Ghoufi balconies or Ghoufi canyons;also pronounced « Rhoufi ») is a touristic site situated in the Aurès Mountains in Algeria.The Rhoufi village is an secondary agglomeration of the Ghessira commune in the wilaya of Batna.
Geography:
A long canyon, with the name of Ighzir Amellal («The White Valley» in the Berber language), crossing all the region from Tifelfel at M'Chouneche.On three or four Kilometers along the valley, gardens of fruited trees and palm trees in the valley, dominated by cliffs with the height of 200 m or more depending on the location.The Ghoufi village is situated in the border of the national road on the north cliff.
Overlooking the oasis, the Ghoufi balconies, graven by waterfalls on the rock, they attracted the man whom constructed his doweling places nowadays inhabited dating of more than four decades.At the tournant of each balcony a village can be found in the middle called Taqliath (A building of more than one story containing a number of rooms equal to the number of families, serving the warehouse of harvest and provision).The villages are hanged on the cliff side which are named Hitesla, Idharen , Ath Mimoun, Ath Yahia, Ath Mansour or Taouriret.
The architecture is typically Berber.The martial used are stone summarily polished and joined with a local mortar, tree trunks and date trees.
The canyons of Ghoufi are, in the image of The Grand Canyon and The Rocky Mountains, composed of Metamorphic rocks and Sedimentary rocks, is of a vegetation of the type oasis, specified unique in this region.
History:
The Ghoufi balconies are in their flank forming traditional Berber habitat in the shape of "Stairs " and ,in their steep walls, by troglodyte dwellings.The site has been classed as a cultural heritage by UNESCO in 1928 then in 2005.
