Shimmering Beauty of Darkness - Jomtiem Beach, Pattaya

My first impression of Pattaya was a place where lonely men ventured to search for a future soulmate, with mutual exchanges and agreements made in the process. In my first few years of living in Thailand I had no desire whatsoever to visit such a place, but there is a lot more to 'Sin City' than the bright lights and attractive company many desire. A few km away from Walking street aka 'The Hunting Zone' lies the long stretch of Jomtiem Beach, a more pleasant relaxed affair more geared up for the more conservative and families. I mean it's not in the league of the exotic getaways you find further a field, but it has it's own charm and the air is certainly fresher than the lung squeezing depths of Bangkok. It nearly always has a breeze, there are plenty of trees to escape the ferocity of the midday Sun, there are a never ending supply of eateries and there is a footpath which stretches the entire 8 km of the beachfront for a run, or a lazy walk.

One of my favourite activities at the beach presents itself during 'Golden Hour' which is to sit on the beach watch life pass by, enjoy the wonderful colours at this time and observe others. Generally during the wonders of the 'Golden Hour', I would be looking out for those orange, gold and red colours filling the sky, but on this occasion the sky was becoming a little moody. So focus shifted towards our magnificent Sun highlighting the beauty of the sea and a few vessels which were enjoying the Sea's vast expanse.

When I looked back at this pictured I realised that I had captured three different forms of aquatic transport; a jet-ski, motorboat and a more luxurious speedboat skipping across the horizon, with the three of them forming a 'Golden Triangle'

The seashore has disappeared in this shot, but our vehicle count has climbed up to four, are they forming an aquatic gang?
