Photos: First snow of the season, November 9 2018
You've already seen Stella zooming around. If you caught our first DTube video early today, that is. If not, check it out. :)
Here are a few more, taken with an actual camera, Mark's trusty old (who you callin' old?) Nikon D90.
This is the patio in the backyard. I love how the snow isn't really sticking to the patio, except for in the cracks. Not sure why that is, but it makes for a more interesting photo. I thought because of the contrast of white snow on a darker patio and darker trees, this silvertone sort of processing effect would be fitting.
An unusual (although certainly not extraordinary) view, with the camera resting atop one of the cedar planters we have to help keep the dogs in the backyard. I like the angles created by the composition. I purposely tried to line up the in-focus cedar planter with the background-focused cedar perimeter fence. The snow is in focus and sort of distorts the natural flow, where you'd see angles coming together at the corner of the planter where it meets the garage, and where the perimeter fence meets up with the garage (in 2D only). Snow likes to take your plans or expectations and crap (or dump) all over them.
Here's one of this... wind chime (I think? It's inside though) we have in the big front window. This one is to jar your senses a bit after a silvertone image, then a cool dramatic one, and now this one is bright and colorful. Well, we still have bright and colorful leaves outside. It's autumn, after all. This snow will be gone by tomorrow, I'm sure. Knock on wood.
