Visiting the Land of fashion, Palmanova Outlet Village Italy

in #photography6 years ago

Hello my Steemians, after some busy days I am finally back with you with something to share. I see a lot of red numbers and black thoughts filling the crypto space, but who cares, we are here to meet and share and have a nice time :)

I am new to Slovenia so I don’t know much about places or history here, however sometimes my husband tells me some stories how it was in the past, and by re-visiting the places I can share them with you.

This is Palmanova, famous in nineties, Slovene people going there to buy clothes, hundreds or thousands for weekends. The place was very famous, good quality, good price, Italian fashion, gadgets, furniture, whatever you wanted.

Today the place looks like this. Really nice composition of the open air shopping mall, called also outlet-village. When it comes to clothes you can probably buy anything here, from affordable Chinese clothes to a pricey branded designers’ outfits. Seems really perfect, however one thing is missing.

Customers. As you can see the village was quite empty. The crowded shops and low prices are just the memories here. Once Slovene people massively came to Italy to buy clothes, now the picture is the opposite. Italians massively go to Nova Gorica Qlandia, Supernova and buy clothes there. Of course branded. And not only clothes, meat, petrol, cigarettes and a nice dinner or they visit casinos, which are not allowed in Italy. Well, I don’t complain ;)

Even this nice playground seems to be lonely, where did the all future customers go? Ahh!! They probably are just waiting for hotter days to come.

So this is the story of success and the flippening between Italy and Slovenia, crypto fans probably have other flippenings in mind :)

Let me know if you have been buying in Palmanova once upon a time, and where do you go now days.

Have all a nice coming weekend.

When i was around 10 i remember going to Palmanova. But this outlet village didn't exist back than in the form as it is now. It was just like a giant mega superstore. Don't even remember the location, but it was huge and you could get anything. I got my GameBoy there! :D

But what kept in my memory way more was the Town itself. Next time, take some time and drive to the Palmanova old city center. It's amazing to see. It's completely round with a roundabout in the center. Surrounded by huge walls and only roads for 1 car out of the walls. But last year i was there it was really empty. I remember it packed with cars and people, shops, restaurants etc.

BTW: Welcome back! :)

Yeah, I know about the town, unfortunately it was not so good weather and I was little short with the time, will try to do it next time. Thanks for stopping by. :)

I never visited Palmanova, but like you said, a lot of Slovenes went shopping there. Now, when Slovenia is crowded with shops from all price and quality ranges I don't see the reason why to travel so far to buy something if I can buy it here.

That depends where in Slovenia you live. :). But even if you live in Nova Gorica you will probably go over the boarder just to buy cheaper Barilla, Parmigiano and Mozzarella. :)

:) Ok, apparently we learned how to live without it, and don't miss that much. :P

I don't feel sorry for them at all. They milked us for years. Long years.

Totally agree, A pay back time. :)

I have never gone. But if I have the opportunity to go there, then I will go shopping in the market. You are presented with beautiful pictures

Thank you my dear. :)

I'm very happy to have you back, dear friend. We missed you a lot @taica

Thank you :)
