Taking a picture of yourself can be a fun way to express your mood, record moments you want to remember, or share events in your way of life. Taking a photo of yourself can be annoying if you do not like the results of your appearance in all the photos. Do not worry. Changing a few things about how you take photos can help you take a more interesting self-portrait.

Method 1
Composition
1
Highlight the camera from the top. Taking photos from above will give you a viewing angle or angle that makes you look more attractive. This angle will most likely accentuate the eyes and make your face and neck appear smaller. [1]
Taking photos from below can make a person look very strong, but usually makes the chin and nose stand out and this look does not look good for most people. [2]
We recommend that the camera position is not too high so that the image is not distorted.
Hold the camera out and slightly above eye level. Then take the picture.

2
Find the exposed faces of the face. See your face in the mirror or camera (or take a photo try and try) and find the side of your face that looks darker because it is farther away from the light source. Take photos from the shadowed side to get artistic and streamlining effects. This approach may not work with direct sunlight. [3]

3
Use artistic approach. Instead of traditional self-portraits, try to take photos in different ways. Here are some shooting alternatives that you can consider:
    Profile photo from the side
Half of your face-either the right or the left.
Zoom in on your eyes, mouth or cheek.

4
Do not place yourself in the middle of the photo. The best photos so far follow what is known as the rule of thirds. This means your eyes should be one-third down from the top of the photo and point to either side. This rule produces more interesting photos and may give a more captivating angle.

5
Keep the camera away from your face. The lens of the camera will distort anything close to it physically. A selfie-as it is usually made by holding the camera as far as the arm's length out of your face-often makes the nose look bigger than it really is, and this is a look that people really care about.
If you want a close up photo, zoom in or zoom a little of the camera lens then hold it away from you or place it further away. After that cut the photo to make it look as if taken close or close up.
If your camera has a timer timer alias, place the camera on top of something, plug in its timer and back off. The resulting photo will likely be much nicer.

6
Use the main camera from your phone. Although the front camera is easier to use to take photos of yourself, your smartphone's main camera usually has a much higher quality and will produce better photos. [4]

7
Place a mirror in front of your camera. It's easier to know how you look in a mirror, so if you put a mirror on the back of the camera or phone, you'll be able to preview the photos you want to take more effectively. Make sure you do not show a fake smile!

8
Ask someone to take your photo. While this is not always possible, asking others to take your photos is usually better. Chances are you can focus more on what you do and how to pose when you do not have to worry about holding the camera and pressing the shutter button as well.
Ask a friend to take your photo. She may be a bit of a fool at you, but she may also want you to take a picture of herself.
If you're at an event or are doing an activity, ask someone else to take your photo (and friends if you're there with other people). Just make sure the person is trustworthy so your camera or phone is not stolen.
