both are excellent but i love the first most cause it's more light and more natural and i like better the colors

Thank you for posting @sulev.

The first has a unity, movement and mood. The second has a contrast of the tree trunks against everything else that causes the eye to concentrate on the darks only. It has movement but not unity...if that makes sense.

Yes. Thanks for the answer!

I think the first one is much more beautiful, I'd much prefer wandering down that road than the second one (yes I know its same pic, but the second one is just too dark for me)

These pictures reflect happy and sad emotion. People who are happy like the first picture. People who are sad like the second picture.

Interesting thought. Thanks! I too think the first is "happier". The second is a little dramatic.

I prefer the first. It appeals to me more perhaps because it looks like the beginning of the day.

I like the second because of the warm colours (in a snow scene, I realise 'warm' doesn't ring true of course).

For me, it's the first picture in a close call :)

Second one. Better contrast IMHO.

The second picture is very "edgy" and makes me feel like I'm in the place already and need to be on guard. I think it's partly because it's slightly more zoomed and partly because it has a more crisp feel to it. The first picture is pretty but doesn't provoke and emotional response apart from, "oh that's pretty I'd like to visit".
One is chocolate box and one is fairy story.

I could definitely see the first as a chocolate box :D

The second, everything is much more distinct and the colours have punch. Although I suspect the first is the more natural photo?

I think the second is too purple and has too much contrast. I don't like it at all. But most people like it. Trying to figure out why. Thanks for your feedback!
The first picture is more natural yes.

I like the first. Because it closer to reality 8)

When I judge the photos, I try to imagine the scene without any colors, and see if the composition is good. From that perspective, the second photo wins, there is simply less dead space, and the photo is more balanced. The second photo's choice of post-processing is rather subjective to personal taste, and I like it.

Thanks for the input :)
My picture has definitely more dead space. I wanted to include the snow stripes on the road as much as possible.

I also like the colors in the first photo, I actually like it more than the second. But in the end, I think the second photo communicates a stronger image.

Strangely enough... I feel the composition in the second is a bit strange. The tarmac is only on the right side of the picture and leads me a bit up and that's it. The road ends abruptly. I feel as if my eyes are hooked at the end of the road and nowhere else, while in my image I feel free to look around almost everywhere. The road takes my attention at first, but once I've gone along it, it gently fades away and I'm left wondering free. Maybe I'm strange :D

Nah you're not strange, I just feel that the road is not an interesting part of the image, and so should not take up so much space. The parts of the image that are interesting to me are the trees leading up to the sky.
