Sweet Peas a beautiful perrenial summer flower.

My grandmother planted these almost 90 years ago at the entrance to our driveway. Each year their blossoms remind me of her.

I copy my grandmother and always try and find things for my gardens that will be planted once and bloom for generations.

The sweet peas are a excellent example of this.

They give good fodder for our bees in the summer as well.

Also the sweet pea is a legume meaning it provides a host to the nitrogen fixing bacteria that help to fertilize the soil.

All this and a beautiful and sweet smelling flower as well.

My wife and I were having a conversation about how I don't like flowers unless they are perennial. I'm not a big fan of planting the same thing over and over every year. These sound nice though since they are nitrogen fixing as well.
