Freaky Spider That Came Down and Sat Beside me

I was minding my own business having a coffee on the patio of a cafe staring at my phone. Suddenly I looked behind me and this magnificent arachnid specimen was giving me the eye.

I am not sure what type it is. Though the locals assured me there are no deadly insects in the region. Still, it spooked me. I have lived in the middle of nowhere Canada with bears, snakes, coyotes and mosquito swarms that could black out the sky like arrows falling on Sparta. BUT spiders and bugs freak me right the F out.

I had seen it once more since, now that my attention was brought to their existence and I must be on guard, up the hills when I went foraging for "green gold". Please see my past post about "Green Gold" here in case you missed it.

When I was a kid and I saw a spider in the house I would yell "Mom there's a SPIDER in my room".

She would always reply " DON'T KILL IT OR IT WILL RAIN"

Then she would catch it and take outside telling me stories how she used to keep Daddy Long Legs for pets. I guess that was the Druid Pagan in her, or maybe she picked it up else where. rip

Of all the habits I got from her touching bugs and spiders were not one of them. lol

One of the best parts of living in a place that get's snow and harsh winters is they don't usually have deadly bugs for some reason. I'm sure someone will write about that and I will read it and vote for it.
