Cuddly Sheep part 2

in #photography8 years ago

Sheep are used for a great deal of things including a food source, wool and other uses. In Australia in particular a small amount of their wool is used together with Alpaca wool to create an elegant blend of fibres that are both sturdy and soft. The country is very proud of its wool industry and features a great deal of education about the matter.

As I really don’t have the chance to interact with these types of animals in China, it was great to get to know them through petting and feeding. These sheep in particular are the male rams. I was curious about their curved horns and was informed that they were domesticated ram sheep. They grouped together as three musketeers and were very gentle. Their soft fur had been kept a shorter length, seemingly just shaved for wool production. The animals were well attended to here and the keepers were actively cleaning and feeding throughout the day.
