While crabs are amazing, as with anything, a balance healthy diet is needed and should never be ignored. It just happens that crab fits in very well with an alternative style of dieting!

They are many ways to prepare and crab to be consumed. Whether it’s chopped up and put into soups or served wholesome on a serving dish, most crab dishes taste great. On this day it was time to get into the sharing spirit and nothing is better than a hearty grill.

We seasoned the crab with various spices and didn’t make too much of an effort to overpower the delicious crab meat. Adding this to the grill let it cook in a short amount of time as the shell changed colour. Compared to methods such as boiling, grilling keeps much of the protein and low saturates intact, further encouraging the great healthy benefits. The grill added a slight smoky flavour to the crab and this is really unique compared to broths and steaming.

Eating crabs can be a little difficult sometimes and it’s well worth preparing some tools for eating them with. Eating crab can be a pretty intricate process and there are sets made especially for this. Pre splitting crabs can also be beneficial too.
