Boats on the Water

Water, water, everywhere, but not a beach to swim. This is what I can describe Sydney at times in the city. The waters are beautiful, clean and give much character to the surrounding city as the waters drift with a consistent current. The waters drift throughout the day and the shades of blue shift as the day continues. The clouds create patches across the waters while the sun shines through in the surrounding spots. The green and blues blend beautifully and are met with an equally blue sky. I can spend much of my day relaxing around the city and watching the waters flow. It’s very different in comparison to sitting at a beach where the ocean is abundant. The waters are calm, it reminds me of a time when I took a boat ride out into the centre of the ocean. The waves dissipate and there is simply ocean everywhere.

Boats are amazing inventions, they let people traverse the waters with ease and convenience. I could only imagine the struggle of swimming across the waters to the other side of the city. Safe to say we would all be very much in shape if it was a daily necessity. Boats carry a great deal of history behind them and I believe that it dates all the way back almost hundreds of thousands of years ago. It’s clear that humans have always wanted to reach places and they have exercised great thought and genius solutions to reach where they need to go. Using nature’s own energy to drift to a new location might seem like a risky and outright crazy strategy but it was done with much great success.

As technology has developed we have picked up on ways to get across waters safely. Our energies haven’t gone into changing the waters, rather, we look to build contraptions that will help us navigate even better. The waters of the world are vast and abundant. Forces that can generate tremendous waves of energy simply outclass and out power what a boat can handle. I am always thankful for a safe boat journey as the waters allow us safe passage.
