📷 The Hoher Ifen [Resolving yesterday's 1 SBD competition]
Greetings Steemians!
With this post I wish to resolve yesterday's competition and announce the winner!
I was asking for the height of the mountain in the background of this image:
@moriartyroue, @laraventure, @dedicatedguy and @yesslife correctly identified the mountain as the Hoher Ifen and gave the accurate height with 2230m and 2229m, respectively.
The Hoher Ifen is the highest mountain of the Kleinwalsertal and I often captured it during my Allgäuer photo safaris (see here for more).
A long, long time ago I even placed a huge billboard on the summit to thank my first 100 followers here on Steemit:
What a distant past and yet, I remember the joy of having reached this milestone as if it was yesterday.

The mountain looks even better at summer in my opinion. One of my favorite memories from the Alps is staying in fields of flowers just like where you took the top photo from and identifying all the plants. There's no place where I've seen so many different orchids at the same place.
It must feel pretty surreal to look back at an image you made to celebrate 100 followers; your following has grown so much bigger now.

Hi @valth, agreed, if I have the choice I go there in summer or autumn rather than winter.
I also remember going in the Allgäu during early study times for a botanical field trip. I recall that I gained very interesting insights into sub-alpine plant sociology (ofc everything forgotten since then) but also exhausting identification of countless members of the aster family. And they were all yellow. I reckon orchids would have been more appealing.
I just checked again, I was celebrating my 100 follower milestone back in September 8, '16.

Ja der Berg sieht echt schön aus, und shaka hat das Foto echt gut getroffen, sieht fast aus wie bei Wikipedia =)

Das mit 100 dürfte aber schon ne Weile aus sein^^ Aber beachtliche Photoshop-Skills hast du da ausgepackt :P
Ja, ich erinnere mich, dass ich mir da tatsächlich recht viel Mühe gegeben hatte :) Vor allem die perspektivische Verzerrung der Anzeigetafel und die Ausrichtung der Schrift hat ein Weilchen gedauert.
Hab' gerade nochmal nachgesehen, die 100er Marke hatte ich am 8. September 2016 geknackt ;)

MIst, deinen Rätsel-Post habe ich verpasst. Den Hohen Ifen kenne ich natürlich. Aber ich war noch nicht oben. Auch bei mir läuft seit gestern ein Gewinnspiel mit 10 SBD Reward. Aber es geht nicht um Berge, sondern um den BItcoin. Vielleicht mache ich auch mal ein Berg-Rate-Spiel. Die Idee ist jedenfalls sehr gut.
Da muss ich doch gleich mal schauen gehen :)

I think I know which mountain you have in mind. Main challenge will be to get my own photographic material from there ;)
Haven't seen a lot of mountains in my time. This is an interesting looking one (not that I would have been able to place it without an image search). Also, it's kind of cool to catch a rare @shaka post.
