Historic Landmark: The Last Covered Bridge in Wisconsin (Cedarburg, WI)
How's this for a little history for a Sunday? I grew up a few miles from the last covered bridge in the state of Wisconsin, which once had 40 of them. This bridge is located in the town of Cedarburg.
The bridge was built in 1876 to cross Cedar Creek and remained in use until 1962 when it became a pedestrian only bridge. In 1973 it was listed in the National Registry of Historical Places.
I took these pictures the last time I was back there almost a year ago in December 2016. Beside the bridge is a beautiful park that rests along Cedar Creek and includes a smaller footbridge.
I have a lot of wonderful memories of growing up in Wisconsin and this is one of them. I just thought I'd share it with you!

I love covered bridges. We are lucky to have a few left here in Indiana. Despite someone burning a couple of them down some years back. (He was caught, charged and jailed.)
You've got some amazing photos here, great eye!
