A Beautiful (and very delicious) Sunday in Los Angeles

Like some Hollywood movies that show you the ending first and then explain how they got there, I'm just gonna cut to the chase and show you this delightful treat on #beautifulsunday. Btw, thanks to @ace108 for initiating Beautiful Sunday. This one sure was!

We'll get back to that sandwich momentarily. But first, in all honesty, it wasn't that beautiful here in LA today, very overcast and kind of cool. So I decided to meet a friend down the street for a movie. I live next to one of the original premiere upscale theaters, the Arclight. It was built 15 years ago, renovating the old Cinerama Dome and creating an incredible complex. Today's weather:

My friend and I saw Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. It's a big Oscar contending and it lives up to the hype. Francis McDormand is brilliant, leading a very talented group of actors. The script is funny even as it deals with very heavy subject matter. It's a definite recommend from me.

From there, we went to dinner at a restaurant not normally open on a Sunday. It's a small sushi restaurant in West Hollywood named Kura on Sunset Blvd. There's a very talented sushi chef there, Daniel, who decided to start a pop-up sandwich restaurant there, Katsu Sando, on the closed days.

Yes, there's a $70 Wagyu beef sandwich! But I was craving chicken katsu and Daniel really delivered! It's served like this, with pickles on the side:

I ordered it with cheese (chef's recommendation). The chicken itself was perfectly prepared, crispy outside, moist inside. The mixture of flavors from the sauces, the cheese, and the chicken blended wonderfully making a fantastic sandwich. And I love the stamp on the bread!

So yes, it was a beautiful Sunday. I hope everyone else had one too!
