GIMP 2.10.0 Released!

For those of you who, like me, don’t want to spend a fortune to have the right to use photoshop… one of the best freeware alternative, GIMP, just released the newest version. I’m not a GIMP specialist myself but I do use it from time to time. Especially when I need to cut-out subjects or when I need to work with layers.
Of course I installed the newest version and right now I’m playing a bit with it… and I discovered a completely new tool that is rather funny… the warp transform tool…
As images explain more than text, let me show you an example of what this tool does…

Well, with this new tool you can make funny effects like this :
He now looks even more like a giant, isn’t it? 😊 And the best part is that you don’t need years of experience to use the tool. I played for maybe max 15minutes to understand how it works.
Ok, ok… it’s not a very “serious” editing tool but hey, a good laugh from time to time never hurts 😉

Awesome, and in my opinion people who don't know photoshop for them there are many softwares in the market, and literally speaking no matter which software you are using but funny effects are really admirable as you shared an giant funny picture. Coolness! I'd heard there'd be a new release, but didn't know it happened. Thanks for the heads-up, and I LOVE that new funny effect... but then again, I do have a warped sense of humor... 😂

I didn't know a new version was available, great news. I have some GIMP tutorials online on Steemit, better check to see if any need updating :)
On second thought, be careful when updating. The program looks great but it has some trouble processing things. Even easy stuff. At least on my computer.
Never had trouble with the former version. This one already completely gave up one time, showing an error report, and many times reports 'Not Responding' at the top of the screen. It then comes back alive after a little while.
No problem on my side... works like a charm (maybe a bit slower)
But you have to be careful with possible plugins you installed/use. I had some problems with the GMIC plugin but after uninstalling it everything was fine.
I am not using any plugins as far as I know. Just wanted to warn people who may have an older computer. Problems could arise.
I am still using it but I won't be surprised if an update will be out soon.
Don't you see trouble when adding text? Settings not responding, stuff like that?
I do get things done, but not without retries.
Still love the program :)
