in #photography6 years ago

Helo dear Steemians!

In today's photo-guide to Norway - wonderful shore line in Muruvika near Stjordal called Flatholmen. It is not any of this place which You can find in guide books, but for photographic purposes it has the power to create magical and unique views!

This beach, if we can called it like that, is very well known here as a great place for sun-bathing, grilling and walking during whole year and of course summer time especially. In close distant is big parking place and a long footpath leading straight to Hommelvik town.

Muruvik is situated between Hommelvik and Stjordal, on the way from Trondheim to the airport by the "old E6" way.

The shore line is spreading among around 1 km and it is build mostly from rock - which is the biggest attraction here. If You like geology, You will find it to be very interesting but also all the formations are great for landscape photography.

During summer time is the best place to watch sunsets. The sun is setting straight forward above the Trondheimsfjorden.

On the rocky shore we can also find many places with smaller and bigger colorful stones, interesting driftwood and sea vegetation.

Very often we can spot one or two paddle boats which are great motive for the pictures.

My favourite technique which I am using here is long time exposure. We can play with moving clouds, wavy fiord, changing lights, which together with interesting foreground build with rocks, stones and small water ponds, creates many frames to shoot.

Going forward by the sea shore we can also spot some more old boathouses, wooden boats and other small beaches. During the summer time and good weather, Muruvika beach is full of people so it is not the best time for photo-outdoors... but when there is stormy, windy, cold and getting dark - this place is completely empty which makes it the perfect place to rest and enjoy the loneliness.

It is not much more to say about this place - I hope the pictures will tell You more than thousand words...

Amazing dusk colors, was it a long exposure?

Thanks, yes, most of the photos in this post are made with long time exposures. Some of them a second, some others 30 seconds...

Wow! Mind = blown. The colors and how the clouds create that interesting texture in that first photo made my jaw drop. I'm not joking. I've never been to Muruvik, but these photos makes me wanna go there, with a camera and spend a few hours getting some shots. Just wow.

It is really peaceful and quiet place, after hard day, You can escape there, just to shoot, clear the mind, watching sunset, hear the sound of breaking waves... I really love this place and I am there every time I want to rest... Thank You for comment!!

Thanks for another great post! You have shared amazing photographs here. Some of them are exceptional. Well done all of them!
It seems the lightning conditions very rare at other places are almost common at this shore line in Muruvika.

Thank You very much! This is selection from few visits just to present the posibilities which are quite amazing... if we are lucky ;).

I haven't done any landscape photography in about a year now. Your photos are making me want to again. 📷
