Spring in Poland #4 - Some reflections...

In this short session I made during latest visit in Poland, I used only one lens, and this was a mistake - I see this now, after I processed the pictures and stitched my panoramic works.

It was very stupid thing to make panoramic shots with my tele lens 70-300mm instead of just changing it to wide 16-35mm. I thought I will get some less distortions or some other interesting effects, like shallow depth of field - and Yes - I got shallow depth of field which would even work great if I simply switch to manual focus instead of using automatic one.

What I got in effect - I think I don't have to explain?

But If You still dont know - just imagine the panoramic shot, where one of the middle picture has different focal point... and suddenly after post production, I got foreground which suddenly loses its sharpness, gets blurry, and all the focus is now in background instead... it simply cannot look good in final picture.

I decided to make that shots anyway - and share them with You here.

As long as they are in small resolution - You probably won't see where is the problem. But all of these pictures are simply wasted as material for selling or printing. Good for small FB or blog postings only. Always something.

I learned my lesson, I learned one more time, that if You are lazy enough to not change Your gear when You should - Your effect will be poor or none...

Learn on my mistakes guys ! Never do the panoramic shots on auto-focus, especially when You shoot with open aperture (shallow DOF) and zoom lenses. NEVER!
