Trip to Mallorca I - Cap de Formentor [EN/DE]

unfortunately, I didn´t have much time and energy the past few weeks, I hope I can slowly come back again. My art also has to wait, but I still have some travel photos for you! Many people are just thinking about their upcoming summer vacation. To get you in the mood, I would like to introduce you to a holiday destination that is especially popular for the Germans, but there is so much more to offer away from the famous Ballermann drinking spot...
In 2013 I was with a part of my family in Mallorca, staying in a hotel on the east coast - in Cala Millor. It was April, so the water was not warm enough for wimps like us and we rather made some trips with the rental car. The island is not very big, so you can easily explore every area as a day trip.
I would like to take some of them with you now. I want to start at a famous vantage point, the Cap Formentor. Only one and a half hours by car was the northernmost point of Mallorca to reach from our hotel. The last part leads on adventurous, narrow roads up to this gigantic cliff.

leider hatte ich die letzten Wochen wenig Zeit und Kraft mich um neue Beiträge zu kümmern, ich hoffe, es geht nun langsam wieder aufwärts. Die Kunst muss nach wie vor auch warten, aber ich habe noch etliche Fotos für euch in der Hinterhand!
So langsam machen sich die meisten Leute Gedanken um ihren Sommerurlaub. Um euch ein wenig in Stimmung zu bringen möchte ich euch ein Urlaubsziel vorstellen, das gerade für die Deutschen super populär ist, aber noch so viel mehr zu bieten hat fernab vom Ballermann.
2013 war ich mit einem großen Teil meiner Familie auf Mallorca, untergebracht in einem Hotel an der Ostküste - in Cala Millor. Es war April, daher war das Wasser für so Weicheier wie uns noch nicht warm genug und wir unternahmen einige Ausflüge mit dem Mietwagen. Die Insel ist nicht besonders groß, daher kann man wirklich jede Gegend als Tagesausflug erkunden. Zu einigen davon möchte ich euch nun mitnehmen.
<pAnfangen will ich an einem berühmten Aussichtspunkt, dem Cap Formentor. Nur anderthalb Stunden Autofahrt war der nördlichste Punkt Mallorcas von unserem Hotel aus zu erreichen. Das letzte Stück führt über abenteuerliche, enge Straßen hinauf zu dieser gigantischen Steilküste.☁

And the view is really wonderful, convince yourselves. It is not without reason that this place is called by the locals "Meeting Point of the Winds".[1]
Dort kann man, wenn man Glück hat, der Straße entlang parken und den Aussichtspunkt zu Fuß genießen. Und die Aussicht ist wirklich wundervoll, überzeugt euch selbst. Nicht zu unrecht wird dieser Ort von den Einheimischen auch "Treffpunkt der Winde" genannt. [1]

Leaving the cap and driving a few miles in a westerly direction, you get to the viewpoint Mirador. If you are free from giddiness, you can climb up a few steps and get a new view of the Cape.
Verlässt man das Cap und fährt ein paar Kilometer in westliche Richtung, gelangt man an den Aussichtspunkt Mirador. Ist man schwindelfrei, kann man einige Stufen in die Höhe steigen und erhält einen neuen Blick auf´s Kap.

Oh... I also love Cap Formentor! So happy you took a trip there! Mallorca is a beautiful island. You were lucky to take this trip out of the high season, this same place is highly invaded by buses of tourists. If you are still in Mallorca I can recomend a lovely walk up into the mountains called EL Camí dels Tossals verds http://caminosdemallorca.blogspot.com/2011/02/tossals-verds-ses-cases-velles.html
