Ever lost all your money in an investment scam?
Definitely not an upmarket apartment is it? No lights, no running water! This is the Munsieville squatter camp that houses some 300 families that fell upon hard times.
How's about washing your family's clothes like this? Cold water is taken from a tanker with buckets.
Some people are trying to make their shacks look decent!
Yet others have to do with what they can get from the scrap dealers!
How's this for a suburb? Every time that I see this my heart jerks inside.
They see us as Angels every time that we arrive with clothing, food and gifts for the children, the adults and the old people!
Sadly The Papillon Foundation also has scare resources, but we do what we can to help with what we have.
This was December 2016 and here you can see Papillon's team of volunteers! Some of them also brought gifts along!
With respect I am not going to show you little children with tears in their eyes. Or a sick old granny. Or a lame 40 year old.
No! I have decided to show you the hard facts.
I am not going to plead either! Or ask for money! My purpose is to show you the value of The Papillon Foundation and what will be lost if we have to close our doors!
We were supposed to close down in January, but by grace and sacrifice we have continued and it seems that we might make it until the end of the year! 16 years of battles and strife to survive!

It has been a continued struggle as noted for the past 16 years Lady Melinda. We have survived by grace, but I also have some great news that will be revealed as soon as I have all the facts. All that I can tell you at this stage, is that a great new adventure awaits. The Lord knows that my body is rebelling against the continued stress and new rivers with life giving waters are waiting to be discovered. Thank you for what you do!! it is crazy to me how we allow suffering in so many places. Even here, in the rich US, in San Diego, we have over 5000 homeless. And they don't even have a shanty town. They sleep under bridges, in door ways, under a bush.
No bathrooms, no place to wash hands, to find clean drinking water or food for that matter.
Right now, we have a hepatitis breakout. Over 460 known cases and 18 dead. So sad!!
Yup! So sad Lady Maranne! We also have thousands and the majority stay in the bushes near rubbish dumps! Beggars gather at the intersections of most roads and the criminals stay in the underground storm water drains. I can go on and on but I can see that you also understand. Thank you for the reply! I don't like to see fellow Africans living like this . Poverty really degrades human dignity. Wishing @papilloncharity all the best as they improve lives of the less fortunate.

You stay a true friend @rem3600 and I am sure that things will start to change drastically soon. I have had an approach by a big Christian organization to think about, but I cannot say too much at this point in time. Keep an eye out as I will post as soon as I have the facts!
