A hard day's night!
Late afternoon and this little keet is tired, as learning to copy the adults is hard work!
There are six of them around, but as in life, this one is a little different. He doesn't hang out with the other little ones, but rather prefers his big brother's company.
Here at the top he is on his way and let's see where he is going!
I could almost hear the "How's it bro"? greetings! (Little Tommy was talking to his elder brother)!
"Mind if I try to crawl under your wing bro"?
"Phew!, you need a deodorant bro, I will rather lay here beside you"!
"Just checking bro, as I hope my underwings are not going to stink when I'm big like you!
Ever so slowly little Tommy was falling asleep and big bro was keeping an eye out for him.
I was sitting under a macadamia nut tree, sorting out the nuts that I pick up every day, as it is a process that I follow to finally ripen the nuts after they have dropped off the tree. This was when first big brother nestled into a ground heap beside me and then little Tommy appeared. They were about 3 meters away from me and I was screened by the tree's lower branches. It was so cute to watch this story unfold.
There's love in nature!

Thank you my friend and great to see that your rep is (61) you deserve it! Blessings!
Cute little guy! When you are saying brother... are they actually of the same family? (they seem so different in ages... ).... or just a turn of phrase?
Thank you! Yes, they are of the same family. This new lot used to be 12 little ones, but the hawks and falcons have thus far taken 6 of them. They are very quick growers and the elder brother is from last year's crop!
Adorable! They're the cutest with their little orange feet.
Thank you and they are surrounded constantly by 5 or 6 adults that continue to watch the skies. I caught a brief glimpse of a falcon that must have grabbed one of the keets, as the garden was filled by loud alarm calls! Now we all keep an eye upon the skies! Blessings!
It was interesting to watch the chick))
Thank you and I think that you liked it!
That mother (?) bird looks strange, almost like a cartoon character... but maybe that's why it fits well for such a nice little story ;-) Quite endearing, the little one is so cute!
Thank you! They are wild Guinea Fowls Sir Richard and the mom's looks are the way that nature colors her inhabitants. It would be boring if all of the birds were grey!
Perfectly fine with me, didn't mean to criticize the looks, quite the opposite! Its just unusual, when you never saw one like it... meant more in a sense of being amazed. I actually would like to put one of these "Guinea Fowls Sir Richards" in a painting some day. Interesting name too :-o
No offense taken Sir! I would love to see your artwork about the Guinea Fowl, as I have just voted on your latest one about the queen ringing the bell! Blessings!
baby chicks are so cute - of all kinds. What am I saying - all babies are cute...
Glad you liked the post Lady Marianne and yes indeed, all babies are cute! Blessings!
TIL that the big bird is a guinea fowl and it's baby is called a keet...you never know if you'll learn something new by just reading posts around ;) and it's quite an interesting bird, the feathers are pretty.
Nature really knows how to make beautiful and cute things, but only the most observant ones can find them! Really nice and cute photos :)

Guinea fowl - very beautiful birds.
Thank you and I am glad that you liked it! Blessings!
Hey @papilloncharity,
I would like to invite you to @APPICS as one of the first APPICS app testers!
APPICS is a new blockchain based social media application launching in Q2 this year. Similar to Steemit, users can earn cryptocurrency tokens for posting creative content, but different to Steemit, APPICS will be focusing on photos or videos instead of blogposts. With the APPICS app we give users the power to monetize time and creativity they spend on social media.
The app is currently in beta mode, running on the STEEM blockchain, so you can easily log in with your username and your private posting key as your password.
If you´re interested in joining APPICS, please send us an email at [email protected]
Feel free to visit our website Appics.com for further information.
I‘m looking forward to hear from you!
Best wishes,
