Hey Friends!

Welcome To

Bunnies, Bees, and Pictures that Please

Did ya notice how I rhymed that last part LOL

Its that time of the year that all the critters are out. As Owl explains to Bambi and Thumper, all the young animals are Twitterpated.

Ok so I am not a poet and I certainly know it LOL. Well my buddy @lightsplasher wrote a post today where he showed some of his awesome photography as well as talked about the future use of hydrogen fuel. It was a great post and made me want to respond. Instead of hijacking the comment section over there, I thought I would do a post as a reply :)

One of my favorite shots. Look at the massive amount of pollen he has collected!

So hydrogen has long been looked at as a potential fuel source. It is extremely abundant. Just think of all the seawater there is. Seawater is easily split-able into oxygen and hydrogen by electrolysis. The best part of using hydrogen as a fuel is that water is the "pollution".

To my mind, this old beetle has been rooting around in the pollen and has a bit too much of nectar!

Of course the problem with hydrogen is the storage. We cannot forget what happened with the Hindenburg! Hydrogen atoms are so small that they leak out of everything!!!

The future will be interesting to see. I wonder which energy solutions will be adopted and which will fall by the wayside.

My Stirling engine.

Wonderful post! Really one of the big keys to using hydrogen technology is learning how to bind the hydrogen with a chemical to easily and less dangerously transport it as a liquid. It sounds like this problem has been solved but the way to do it remains a company secret.

You can synthesise several flammable gases and liquids from H2 and CO2, few secrets there, but the industry and the hype is focused on electricity and storing electricity in batteries. At least as a power source for transport, I don't think that is the most practical or most environmentally friendly solution in the long run.

Also, the 7-series BMW that was modified to run on H2 sounded much better than the current electric BMWs 8-). I think they dropped the project, though.

This is a fabulous collection of macro, Paul, and the poetry is whimsical:):):)

Don't want to burst your bubble Paul but the reason the Hindenburg blew up is because the US banned the use of Helium!?

"U.S. law prevented the Hindenburg from using helium instead of hydrogen, which is more flammable. After the crash of the hydrogen-filled R101, in which most of the crew died in the subsequent fire rather than the impact itself, Hindenburg designer Hugo Eckener sought to use helium, a less flammable lifting gas"

Vested interests screwing everyone as usual.

Good to see the Bee's collecting all that pollen. Less to go up my nose! lol @old-guy-photos

Really nice photography post @old-guy-photos! My friend have created awesome Steemit t-shirt and I want to share it with our amazing community! More detailed pictures are here:

That beetle....is a japanese beetle.....evil....evil....evil. When I lived in the country a few years back we had an over abundance of these and they ruined everything red in my garden....like japanese maple, roses, grapes, etc. Even my holly bush. Dead. Skeletonized. And, the worst part of it is they lay so many eggs that turn into white grubs that eat your grass. I pulled my grass back and there were 25 ugly grubs in one section - equals infestation.

Just sayin'....don't be liking these beetles. They are not your friend. Nope. Not.

All jack rabbits look alike and pose alike. hmmmm.....must be genetics :) lol

PS - if you see another beetle, pick it off the plant - it won't bite, and drown it in soapy water. We had to hand pick our garden. There are no predators for them. We tried all the stuff. There is nothing to stop them. They will take over the world. (just kidding about them taking over the world - wouldn't want to be responsible for nightmares in your part of the world.....Chucky knows where you live remember)

Great title! Definitely some photos that please =)

Great shots!

And for fun, here's an HHO torch in action^^

Cool stuff! I used to watch a couple of those guys in the HHO community - FEARLESS!

Mostly nothing to fear as long as you just burn the gas you generate and forego accumulating it! I saw a guy on youtube collect 60 litres per minute, but he was running a pick up truck so he could burn it pretty fast. Still, that's something to be scared of! Though he used plastic water jugs, so probably not much shrapnel if they go!!

That doesn't look like pollen to me... I think what she has there is some resin to build out the cells, cap the cells etc. Pollen would be very bright yellow. Great photos!!
