Surplus photos #1 from SteemitPhotoChallenge #35 - not entries

Hi fellow Steemians!

For this week's challenge I went through a nice pile of desert photos. As there are only three entries I decided to share some more photos that I didn't choose as an entry.

Most of them were taken with an Caplio G500 Wide which I used back then, because it was dust-proof, which is really a nice feature when working in the desert.

View along the Salar del Carmen Fault on the eastern rim of the Coastal Cordillera. Fault scarp nicely marked by shadows.

Rocks split by the sun (actually by the temperature differences between day and night).

Looking west towards the crests of the Coastal Cordillera.

Looking west from the alluvial fans towards the Costal Cordillera which shields the desert from the clouds. They only rarely make it over the crests.
