Onion flowers

What? Yes, onion flowers. Red onion, to be precise:

Onions are usually harvested before they bloom, but the flowers are pretty enough to leave a few and have a look.

Beautiful flower and nice photography

Beautiful flower.

Very nice. It's also worth leaving a few to get next years seed.

Onion flowers are indeed quite beautiful. I find all members of the Allium family, which includes onions, garlic and shallots to be lovely in bloom (and on the plate).

I never knew that onions were so beautiful, thanks for sharing!

For me it was a great discovery. :) Did not know that onions can have such beautiful flowers. Maybe I'll do an experiment to bring a bow to a state of flowering. Thank you!

They make for a dazzling show of beauty!
