Metallic moths
Or Zygaenidae, as the biologists have it. This one is called green forester (Adscita statices):
Olympus XZ-1, 28mm, ISO200, f5.6, 1/60s
Some of these are more blue:
Olympus XZ-1, 28mm, ISO200, f8, 1/80s
This is a close relation, the blackthorn aurora moth (Rhagades pruni). It looks a bit ominous with its black wings:
Olympus XZ-1, 28mm, ISO400, f8, 1/125s
Despite the difference in colour, the six-spot burnet (Zygaena filipendulae) is also closely related:
Olympus XZ-1, 28mm, ISO200, f8, 1/250s
Note that these are all wide-angle shots (at 28mm). You can get really close to these moths if you move very slowly.
Thanks for watching!
@ocrdu I dont like moths but these are cute!
heb je iets oranje ?
doe's aan aub
@edje geef een uitdaging aan iedereen
graag doe maar mee!
Ik heb geen oranje kleren! Helemaal geen.
Wow, amazing 😉
Nice shots! I wonder how you managed to come so close...
Patience. I usually take a photo from a distance first, to have at least one photo, and then it is a matter of moving very slowly and silently towards them, like t‘ai-chi in slow-motion, preferably straight at them. You're just part of the landscape for them then. Another option is to sit down and wait for one to land in front of you 8-).
He-he! So you have to sit forever, not the best way. Thanks!
The waiting time varies, some like to sit in the sun on high places 8-)
Or on a nice sweet-smelling shoe.

I remember your posting, close to the edge, it was.
Now those are some very cool pictures.
Thanks.
Beautiful moments of nature!
Indeed!
It is a shame some require lying on your belly in heather for an hour before you get a good photo 8-).
That is very similar to fishing.
