Low Water in The Netherlands
It has been hot in The Netherlands, with almost no rain, and the water levels in our rivers have dropped, like here in the river IJssel near Deventer:
The commercial transport ships are having trouble navigating this, but some enterprising daredevil has tried to cheer them up:
It says: "Always keep smiling".
I'm not so sure that is good advice, but the lack of commercial shipping does give more room for playing about in the smaller boats:
On the now much wider banks some typical Dutch jetsam has surfaced again:
Is has rained a bit since I took these photos, but not nearly enough to get water levels back to where they should be. I call on the Germans upstream to fix this by draining all their lakes into the river Rhine.
That should do.

an all round amazing shots. i love the focusing and the blend of colors.
beautiful view..great frame
We just had 6 inches / 1.5 cm of rain.
6" = 15cm? That's a lot. Pump some this way, please.
This time rain is no where...even we are parched land with no farming around.....all due to climate change...

A great opportunity for metal detecting.
Some 18th century meerschaum pipe heads were found by, um, detectorists looking for entirely different things.
I found a bicycle without using any fancy equipment.
Then the real question is how much did you get for it at the scrap yard.
Then the real question
Is how much did you get for
It at the scrap yard.

I'm a bot. I detect haiku.
I left it where it was. It is art now.
