Leaf Look-Alikes
I found these two yesterday in a park, pretending to be leaves. (They were, I wasn't.)
They are called common brimstone (Gonepteryx rhamni), citroenvlinder in Dutch:
I prefer to shoot these against a purple background, but you don't always have that choice.

They don't have the spectacular patterns these have, but I think they are quite pretty in their own way.

And a fine job they have done too. Amazing photos and really amazing moth/butterfly camouflage.
Great photos. They really do resemble leaves... Were-leaf butterflies haha. Nature never ceases to amaze me.

Ingenious disguises. Brilliant.
They really do look like leaves @ocrdu.
I actually like them on the green background where their similarity to leaves is accentuated.
