Cars in the wild: a Ferrari

in #photography8 years ago (edited)

I'm more into classic cars myself, but somebody somewhere will like this: a Ferrari 458 I saw just now (at dusk) on my way home, just sitting there in the twilight. It had the colour "boring mat grey" so I waited for a car to pass with a flashing indicator to take this photo:

Olympus Stylus 1s, 65mm, ISO3200, f4, 1/25, sorry about the noise, very little light available

It has a 4.5 liter V8 producing 570hp at 9000rpm. Zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) takes 2.9s and it will go on to a top speed of 340 km/h (210 mph). There is no version with a manual gearbox, and it comes with a great many abbreviations to flatter its driver. Not my thing at all, but it's a great car: a looker and a hoot to drive (yes, have). Still, if I could afford a car like this I think I would go for something more primitive and analog.

Previous car in the wild: a Mercedes.

Ha! I thought I was looking at sunset reflections - nice touch!
