Apache for Crooked Water - Native American ruins in Arizona

Ancient farmers built this pueblo called Tuzigoot (Apache for crooked water) over a thousand years ago. As you can see, the land is still green and fertile along the Verde River near what is now the town of Clarkdale, Arizona. The Sinagua people that populated this area disappeared suddenly, never to be seen again after the 1400's.
