The Treasures Of Mushroom Forest 🌲🍄🌲 - part 1
As we were about to set off to our weekly photo-trip, an interesting suggestion was made by @simba; to go to one of the pine forests that are scattered in our region and look for mushrooms.
It was raining heavily at the start of the week and then we got a couple of sunny days which is exactly the right time for mushroom picking, specifically our "national" mushroom the Suillus Granulatus which can be found in the vicinity of pine trees.
It's safe to eat and has a pine-like earthy taste. Suillus Granulatus grows in pine forests and maintains "mycorrhiza" - a symbiosis between the mushroom and plant roots - with pine trees.
This mushroom accompanies the pine trees and maintains close reciprocity.
Its webs cling to the roots of the young pine, penetrate them, and exist with them as one body.
The tangled web of the mushrooms joins the pine roots and seems to significantly increase the ability of the pine to absorb water and minerals from the soil.
The pine, for its part, shares the sugar it produces, and so they live together, in close cooperation.
As you can see we found some hefty ones 🍄😎 @simba is holding the real big one next to his head for comparison 🤭
To Be Continued!!!!!!
Enjoy!
