This story concerns this choice when shooting, which I mentioned in the first post about the Krasny Bor. There are animals, there is enough time for shooting, which means that you can afford to experiment.

At the same time, experiments can bear only an artistic effect, but also a purely practical one. Let's remember what is typical for shooting wild animals? That's right, the distance. Deer and other deer are very sensitive to the presence of a person nearby. And closer to 50 meters is rarely permitted.

And this means that it is necessary to use telephoto lenses with a focal focus. I used two 100-400 (more often 300-400) and 800 mm. For pictures on such focal images were more or less sharp, you need to expose the exposure shorter. And aging, in turn, will require more light ... Well, where can I get it in December and even in cloudy weather? When even in the daytime it is necessary to expose very rigid parameters with ISO for 1000 ... (I do not write about the diaphragm, since it is almost always completely open)

And then our artistic method comes to our aid. Already during the shooting I noticed that the horns of deer are much easier than anything else. And the deer and the surrounding landscape. Accordingly, the photos will work better horns, even if everything else penetrates into the deep shadow. Of course, sorry, but there's nothing to be done. All the same horns are the most important object of photography and the most expressive.

Then we choose such parameters, when the horns remain bright, but the exposure is not short, as usual, but lasting, much like when shooting wiring or a little more authentic. We can say that each photographer chooses this parameter to his liking.

And as a result, a miracle happens! We can rely on the dark surface of the frame, with light horns of a deer! Raising the moments of movement of animals and their small efforts, you can create various drawings. Sometimes it becomes like a flame, and sometimes a flower bud. Fantasies can be different. And this applies to them in different ways, although I really like them)
