Long exposure quad-copter experiment
(Note: this is not an entry into the competition)
This weeks Steemit Photography Challenge theme is long exposure. I was interested in seeing how stable my quad-copter would be at 400 feet up and how long I could push the exposure time, so tonight I headed out for some flying time.
It looks like you can get some reasonable results all the way up to 4 seconds. I also discovered that at higher ISO settings, the software seems to have some aggressive noise reduction that makes everything look a little too stylised, so you need to stick to 400 or below.
Anyway, I didn't really get anything decent enough for the competition, but I learned a lot and had fun while doing so. Here was the best photo of the night. It was taken about 90 minutes after sunset...
- Camera: Phantom 3 Professional quad-copter
- Exposure: 4 seconds
- Aperture: f/2.0
- ISO: 400

An excellent result for the experiment!
Thanks. It was indeed!
I love it!
Cheers!
Very cool shot, nicely done @movievertigo !
Thank you!
That looks very stable considering it is a 4 second exposure!
Yeah, the DJI Phantom 3 is an awesome platform :-)
