Newport Lakes, Melbourne, Australia
Newport lakes located just off Mason St in Newport is a former blue stone quarry and tip site transformed into a beautiful inner city get away.
It's large open lakes with native bush tracks take approximately 40 minutes to navigate with plenty of seating areas and open space for family picnics. There's even a path that crosses the main lake.
If you have young children they will love exploring this native oasis as you burn off those Chrissy/ new years calories.
The paths are made of crushed recycled concrete and upright pots are former telegraph poles. On site there are electric BBQs, toilets and drinking fountains.
A great inner west get away for some exercise or just to reconnect with nature.

How often do they meet and where? Work and our 1 yr old takes up alot of time.
Every month or so. Normally somewhere central.
