The boat cruise night time party on the Thames.

Hope you all had some enjoyment of my last post with night time pictures of Canary Wharf and some insight into my obsession with the dapperness of London and UK. Today i'll be showing you some more delightful photos of my night time explorations in the heart of the London city.

I go on a boat party along the river Thames of London, and during this night time boat ride, I get to see some of the most recognisable landmarks of London, all the while getting quite tipsy and getting friendly with all the other young people on the boat looking to release some "surface tension".

The first landmark we passed is the London Eye. This used to be the Millennium eye as it was built to celebrate the passing of the year 2000. I remember during this time, there was a lot of talks about a global meltdown due to computers not being to handle the gregorian calendar properly. People called it the Y2K bug and there was a lot of commotion which came and then left as soon as we crossed over the year 2000.

Originally, the London Eye was meant to be taken down shortly after the year 2000, but as a feat of engineering, it deserved a permanent position on the skyline of London and quickly became privatised, continuing to take people on "flights" daily.

At night time, it's lit up into various colours which really give the river bank that extra bit of "pop". Most people will recognise this particularly at new year celebrations where the firework displays use the London eye as the base.

Just behind the London Eye we have the most iconic landmark of London, the Big Ben of Westminster Abbey. No one needs a reminder of this beauty of a building. It is what Guy Fawkes tried to bomb all those centuries ago, and the reason for the extra display of Fireworks each year on November 5th.

Surprisingly it is still used as the congregation and meeting point of the members of Parliament each day.

This is the newest addition to London's otherwise very mute skyline. The Shard. It's actually the tallest skyscraper in Europe and at the top, resembles a few pieces of glass, and hence it's name - The Shard. It has some of the nicer restaurants and hotels situated near the top, such as HuTong and the Shangri La hotel.

Meanwhile this is what the boat atmosphere is like. Young people nowadays have so much energy and capacity to party, it's crazy to think there are hardly any people bothered by the constant rocking of the boat. Drinking and bouncing on the water has already made me a little ill but there is no evidence of that elsewhere tonight.

Tequila shots to kick start the long night ahead. Wish me luck!
