Let's go somewhere

We waved William goodbye, walked to the train station where we decided to go to Coo. We didn’t know anything about the place, but William said it was cool. On the way there we got out of the train in Leuven to have a look on what the place has to offer. It had some quite impressive buildings with lots of detailed ornaments.

A nice meal

After walking around for two hours we had to get on a train again. In Liège we had to transfer as well, so we got some food at a supermarket not so far from the station. We bought bread, cucumber, tomatoes, cheese, ham and meatballs. At the station we made and ate our Subway-style meal.

After checking out the fountain in front of the station we got on the train to Coo.

Where to go?

When we arrived in Coo, we had no idea where to go. We tried to find a good place to set up a tent, but we walked into the wrong direction towards a town. We also tried some side roads, but they all led to houses. We went back to the station to go the other direction, after a short walk there was a small restaurant. In front of it was a bridge with a waterfall underneath it. We went down the stairs to get some pictures.

Finding a place to sleep

In the restaurant we charged our phones, drank some coffee, hot chocolate and some beer. We downloaded a map of the place and spotted some good camping locations. After we walked an hour we arrived at the first spot. A big open field, with treelines on the sides, perfect we thought! When my torchlight lit up some trees in the distance, we heared loud cracks and heavy breathing. We couldn’t see what it was, but we were sure it was a big animal, and it sounded distressed. We hoped it would go away, but it kept on walking through the treelines, coming towards us slowly and making low-pitched short grunts. We stepped back, turned around and decided to check out another camping spot we saw on the map. After a 15 minute walk we arrived at another big open field, next to a streaming river. It was perfect! We set up our tent and went to sleep. Later that night light footsteps woke me up, when I made noise it ran off. It was not the same animal as earlier, it sounded a lot smaller.
