Water
I wanted to shoot something different today and didn't feel like going out. Instead, I decided to try out freezing the motion of water in an ordinary sink. For that purpose, I set the shutter speed at maximum, which was 1/4000 seconds. Some the below pictures were shot with manual settings with the ISO at 26500 and others were shot with shutter speed priority with the shutter speed at maximum. The ISO was 12800 in those. There is not much difference in the pictures. Darktable could not read and very often cannot read the white balance information from the raw (or NEF in case of Nikon) files at extreme ISO values which is why I had the camera give me both NEF and jpeg files. I edited the jpegs slightly by adding a little bit bit of "clarity" (= local contrast) and exposure. I also set color saturation at zero.

As soon as I read the title without entering the publication, it reminded me of a water preservation class.
The last picture is great that moment of falling the drop I liked a lot ..
Greetings friend.
I think it is funny that you decided to make a post out of water running in your sink. Happily, it made for some pretty neat photos.
Who'd have thunk it ?? :)
Actually, I can't say much, as I posted a picture of some colorful cups in a sink of sudsy water once. LOL !.... and here it is ....
The closed up photos are very interesting!

Sometimes ordinary things can interesting when shot at a close distance or with motion frozen, for example.
These came out nice. I like to try to catch motion.
You got some really great shots here @markkujantunen
I don't shoot in raw but am considering it.
I think it's definitely worth it because it's so much easier to edit RAW files than JPEGs. RAW files retain all the information captured by the sensor.
