Hello stranger

Why a stranger?

We often feel misunderstood. Is it the people? Can you say with certainty you grok yourself fully? What are we? Humans, people, person. Our essence and core, not the things we do and identify with, chameleons with many faces. Scary right? Somehow I’ve always felt like a stranger to this world, sent here to explore and learn how to be a human. We all are strangers and we are very slow at learning. Distracted by foolish things, ignoring the beautiful ideas and the collected knowledge of the past. Not spending nearly enough time for exploration and discovery. One step forward, three steps back.

It is also strange that we each have been given this one unique body and our minds are tied to it with no other way to learn about each other only through ourselves and we still need to function as one unit somehow. Humanity. Is the game rigged? Maybe the game ends when AI understands us fully and realizes our potential, because I don’t see how we ever will on our own. Our time is running out. Someone else will reset the clock.

Some days I don't know how to human. What about you?

Song of the day: Massive Attack - Angel
Sort:

We all are strangers to this world. Some of us are just more adaptive and fast learner, some of us not. However, when you don't fit, it means there is something unique in you.. You shouldn't change that.

I feel like I’ve pondered over these same thoughts.

ERROR: fatal exception - human.exe has stopped working!

I guess it's a registry conflict - the parallel operation of so many minds gets detached from the individual processing... at times we find ourselves in our very own macrocosm, lonely, unable to express the very reality that shapes our equations and their ambiguous results, because those results are not valid anywhere outside of the very realm where they apply themselves...

But then... it is those glitches and errors that do create new realities to become a refuge for other alien algorithms to continue weaving the fabric that ultimately connects us all...

O.O ... I'm a bit overwhelmed.

Massive Attack - Angel, and you use the word "grok" without skipping a beat, in a text about the strangeness of being human, of being anything at all.

.. the song is going "love you love you love you love you love you love you" and this might be exactly true.

Of course, by that, I mean I love this... idea of you. The part you are choosing to reveal to us all. The part I grok with so fully.

We've already spoken, on a different post, about how odd it seems that we're all "given" only this one body, trapped in it to experience the world, and trapped to perish as it perishes. I'm looking at you in these photos and feel such a huge curiosity to know what it feels like to be behind those eyes. More or less the same as me, right now? Or so very different as to be inconceivable?

Aww I don't know what to say. Blushing

That also worries me a little. Even when we reveal parts of ourselves we have discovered and explored, do you see them the same way or if you saw also the parts that we have kept to ourselves would you see it all differently? We are such strange creatures. It is also a lot of fun. Maybe all we will ever have is our own ideas of people since we can't look through them.

I do the same so often not only with photographs, people watching :)

At least you are expressing yourself honestly like a human should. Authenticity is something our AI counterparts won't be able to do for many years yet.

this one unique body and our minds are tied to it with no other way to learn about each other only through ourselves

That's fairly interesting when you consider the fractal formation that we all are and how it infinitely surrounds us. Maybe it's just too many distractions from ourselves and a world that has conditioned us to not understand and learn from each other.

There is a documentary called The Century of Self which is quite closely related to some of your points. I'll leave it here, there are 4 parts altogether.

Thank you so much for stopping by and sharing the documentary @calumam! Will have a look. ^^

We are born in a society already constructed by the distortion and naturally of history. But we can choose (we have the right to), to be a different earthling. Human, I think is a short word to describe the complexity of what we are, because more than "being", as occupying a physical space on time, we are actually a complete and unique universe inside (as you said @m31) a body (earthcraft) traveling on a big but insignificance small bubble called by our specie earth. We are more than humans, we are more than earth, we are unknown.

Amazing words by you @m31. This paragraphs made me think and feel so much...
Greetings from another small corner on earth!

Hello stranger @yimiipsa! Hope all is well with you at your small corner of Earth? :)

So we are strangers exploring our own unique universes. Pretty cool right?

Everything is doing well (I guess) around here. Hope you're doing well too!

This post made me think so much about so many things. There is too much to write down about it.

Wonderful photos!

Thank you ^^

Perhaps we were all created just so something could understand what it would be like to live as one of us, and all of us, and everything.

Indeed, maybe so. ^^ Really loved your (children's) story about Universe.

  • What are we? Our essence and core,

I think that's it right there . If were not comfortable with ourselves how can we be comfortable with others .

Maybe that is why we distract ourselves with everything else and make up beliefs to have some sort of meaning, sense and comfort.

Me neither - sometimes I'm not entirely sure who I am or what I am.

Cheers. Makes me wonder about those who go around saying they have it all figured out. You know?
