Where Don Quixote fought

The Spanish town of Consuegra meets us with absolutely empty streets, on which there are not only people but also cars. A cafes are closed, all the windows in the houses are closed with shutters, and it creates a complete feeling that there are no people here, they were taken by aliens or all turned into zombies. How else to explain that in the middle of the day the city roam except that lonely cats, and shops and cafes do not show signs of life?

A bit rumpled and sleepy hotel owner (he also concurrently cooks in a cafe) at the smoky bar counter handing the keys to the hotel room and hiding somewhere in the back room - apparently afraid of exposure to sunlight.
In this city Don Quixote fought with his giants. And in theory, these are the most popular mills and tourists. But this is theory.

The mills with a harmonious row rise on a hill just above the proud. Now they are only 11, and before there were more than 30, and many were older than 500 years, but over time, the mills collapsed, and in the meantime newer ones were built.

Now the oldest mill is just over 200 years old and they all stopped working in the 80s of the 20th century.
In 2005, the tourist route "Don Quixote's Road" was developed. Which included these places, but even in spite of such relative tourist promotion at sunset among the giant frozen giants, only we and a couple of Germans with a tripod.
The majestic and fabulous structure, like many centuries ago, towers over the surrounding fields, although now their blades do not spin, but with every gust of wind they try to break and start moving.

In the morning, it's completely deserted, only an hour after dawn in a dense-dense fog there are local residents walking dogs.

Half an hour before dawn, the top of the hill with the mills is enveloped by a dense fog that you can not see anything more than a couple of meters away. And from the place where the whole string of mills and the castle could be seen in the evening, only the vague outlines of the nearest one can be seen, and the icy wind knocks down and makes you hide in the car, bask and gnaw the chocolate in the hope that with the sunrise there will be a series of fogs and fog lighted by the rays of the low the sun.
