The first time I went to the Michelin-starred restaurant Antoine was with my mother. I didn't know the restaurant, and come to think of it, I didn't know much about Michelin-starred restaurants and their lunch deals back then. And I most certainly didn't know that Antoine was a sea-food only restaurant. So, it's not that my mom is allergic to anything, but she really doesn't like seafood, and the restaurant had absolutely no chicken, beef, or any other kind of meat to serve to her.
What do you do?

The staff of the restaurant (which was kind and lovely beyond anything I've ever seen) thought about it, they consulted with each other and with the chef, and they whipped up a vegetarian dish - which was not on the menu.
I think it was absolutely lovely that they even thought of doing that, because they didn't have to. My mom enjoyed this dish, and although there was no meat there, she came out of the experience happy, delighted, and full.

And I took her to a compensatory hamburger on the next day...
