“Lilies”

Finally, lilies have started blooming everywhere in the Annapolis Valley area in Nova Scotia, Canada. Last year, blooming season was earlier than this year so I was wondering about it. Also, wild raspberries have started to fruit. I noticed there are only a few bees this year. Last year, I heard more noisy bumblebees everywhere but not this year...

I remember that my grandmother used to cook lily roots for her dinner and shared with me. I miss that taste. I will never be able to cook them like her!

“百合”

カナダ、ノバスコシア州のアナポリスバリー地域では、やっと百合が咲き始めました。昨年の開花時期はもっと早かったので、不思議に思っていました。ラズベリーも実をつけはじめました。今年は蜂の数が少ないです。去年は、そこら中で蜂の音がしていたのですが…。

祖母がよく百合の根のおかずを分けてくれたのを思い出します。あの味が恋しいです。祖母のようには作ることはできません！
