Tonight's sunset shoot for "Dark Pinup" w/ @vermillionfox!

Good evening, Steemit! I’m sitting in my office, decompressing from a marathon weekend of shoot beautiful, naked ladies for the final pages of “Dark Pinup”, with @wcpublishing. As someone who worked third shift in a psychiatric hospital for seven years, I can assure you, there are worse ways to make a living. Still, subject matter aside, shoots like the ones we did this week are full production and exhausting. After seeing the early layouts for “Dark Pinup”, I really wanted to up the bar for these remaining shoots.

@wcpublishing brought a Madison based model named Kitty, all the way to the Twin Cities. We shot a series of provocative fetish images against a backdrop of vintage furniture, decorative fabrics and warm lamps. Outstanding shots, which I’ll be sharing tomorrow in a behind the scenes post, specific to that shoot.

Another shoot I’ll be sharing in the coming days is from this morning, with a model named Alex. You can follow her on Instagram at @missfrenchietoast. I met Alex years ago when she traveled to Minneapolis to participate in the annual NOIR black and white event I host. Through no fault of her own, I wasn’t able to get the precise “personal best” photos I aim for, and I’ve always wanted a reshoot with her. When @wcpublishing and I decided the “Proclivities” section of the book had to be bolstered, Alex immediately came to mind. Thanks to @mada and @greatdabu for allowing us to shoot in your home.

Typically, I post several photos in each blog, but the one I’m sharing here is literally off the memory card by a few hours. Editing typically takes me 90 minutes to two hours, so we’ll for go the extra photos the one Steemit gets to see ages before anyone else on the internet. Why is that relevant? Because it’s of our very own @vermillionfox. She posed for a series of magic hour, dream like photos in a remarkable vintage set she designed herself.

Images like this, at least for me, are a roll of the dice. There are so many elements, it’s almost impossible to micro-manage them for a predetermined outcome. The candles, the flowers […foreground and background in this case], mirrors, everywhere […which obviously, I can’t be in], and the lighting. That golden hour light lasts maybe 15 minutes, so you have to make it count. Often times, those unpredictable elements don’t line up, but on rare occasions, they do. This was one of those times. Make-up by Ali Sawler.

Thanks for reading. This was just a teaser from a weekend of creative collaborations with lovely artists and creative minds. More to come. For more photography, illustration, art and the stories behind the work, follow me here @kommienezuspadt!

The professional models you work with are certainly amazing, but this girl is the most intriguing and beautiful of all for me... reminds me of a little story, when I was at Lake Como many years ago and I was completely overwhelmed by the breathtaking beauty.

We ate at a really nice little restaurant and looking down on the water I was raving about the scenery and told the waitress that they live in an absolute paradise. She took a sort of indifferent look at the lake and was like.. "sure". But without much enthusiasm. What I'm trying to say is, that sometimes we are not aware of a treasure, when its constantly around us.

Anyways, I'm sure you are aware, otherwise I don't think you could have taken a picture of @vermillionfox with such an incredible atmosphere. Even in perfect conditions. Somehow it also looks like a painting in contemporary surrealism. The darker sensuous side of "Leipziger Schule"... Masterpiece!

You guys are such a powerful and beautiful duo, can’t wait to see more!

Great news, thank you.

Wow ! extraordinary photography

Enjoyed! My great granddad was a photographer at a resort at the turn of the 20th century. He would put women in trees and photo graph them along with some normal photography in the okoboji Iowa area. C S Warren. Again enjoyed.

FAntatsic shot. Light is used just soo perfectly!

Like most of your photos, it could be a still from some incredible film. It's busy but not lost, and the light is beautiful. Great job

Very nice , I just started photography not long ago . You give me goals :) following you now .cant wait for more
