The completed "Dark Pinup" front, back and spine cover design!
Good afternoon, friends! I’m overdue for a Steemit post but the good news is that I’m elated to announce, my book, Dark Pinup is officially done! @wcpublishing and I sent it off to the printer this morning. Such a range of emotions. This book is, without exaggerating, is my life’s work […up until this point]. We’ve been working on it constantly for the last 8 months. There were even shoots less than two weeks ago that made it in to the pages of the final file. It’s done and as grateful as I am for the chance to make this book, I'm as grateful to be finished with it. I'm going to take a day or two to catch up on Steemit and Patreon posts, then start focusing on the weeks leading up to the Dark Pinup release party Thursday, April 19th at The Artisan Hotel during Viva Las Vegas.
I do want to thank everyone that’s been patient throughout the book process, clients, friends and Steemians. When I met with Bob and Kelly of Working Class Publishing last June, I remember thinking “…this is going to be a LOT of work!”. As it turns out, it was significantly more work than even I anticipated […I vaguely remember my friend Shannon Brooke making a similar remark after completing her title “GIRLS”, with the same publisher]. This book definitely created a situation in which I had to triage edits that were needed to complete the book. Very stressful but the understanding of my clients throughout the production of Dark Pinup kept my nerves in check.
I wanted to share with you all a look at the final cover. I recently shared a look at the front cover of the book, but this is the front, back and spine of the book in it’s entirely. All the white text will be brass foil in the final printing. My long time friend, @ryanashley, is on the front of the book from a shoot in our hometown of Scranton, PA, last June. The photo on the back is a shot we took January 1st during our most recent shoot. Believe it or not, this simple, dark shot of @ryanashley holding a candle was taken in a mirror that was laying on the table she was leaning on. It looked cool; I never thought it would be making the back cover of the book. It’s perfect, though. It doesn’t compete with the front over but certainly supports the mood and esthetic of Dark Pinup in it’s entirety.
I’ll be adding a few more Steemit updates over the next few days, catching up on some of the posts I've fallen behind on this week and last. I’ve been relentlessly writing, editing and designing these last few weeks. I have a lot of new content to share, including an exclusive shot of @ryanashley and work with tattoo model, Ellie Rayne. Thank you all for voting and following. For more photography, art, illustration and the stories behind the work, follow me here @kommienezuspadt!
Wow!! Congratulation for your book Dark Pinup. Cover Page is so gorgeous and colorful. Thanks to @ryanashley. Sometimes simple image or thing makes the view extraordinary. Thanks for sharing your piece of love with us.
Congratulations @kommienezuspadt on the completion of the long awaited book; Dark Pinup.
After the launch @ Vegas, how will your fans get a copy of it?
Meanwhile the front page is legit. It's excessively captivating. Your choice of @ryanashley as the model to grace the front page is perfect.
Keep glowing Sir

Man if I was in Vegas I'd be there in a heartbeat to have a congratulations drink with you. Everything you've shared from it so far has been world class so I've no doubt at all its going to be a well deserved success for you!
Oh, man @davekavanagh! I really wish you could. Just seeing @masuimimax and @dressedtokillyou perform burlesque would be bucket list worthy. The book is incredible. I'm so proud of how it's turned out. I'm going to talk to @wcpublishing about how we can sell it for STEEM or SBD's.
Haha man don't tempt me, I've always wanted to check Vegas out anyway! If only I wasn't saving for my wedding! Great idea about selling for STEEM or SBD. I'd say you're proud alright. I can see from your posts you've put your heart into this one. I'm not in any doubt at all its going to a true piece of art!
That is so cool!!
I’ve recently reignited my flame for photography. I’ve been really inspired by @eveuncovered and have some good photography coming in hot.
I want to get into more self portraits, maybe this can inspire me!
I also go a ‘supporting steemian businesses’ two times a month on my page. I would love to purchase this and make a video about it especially since so much work has been put into this!
@eveuncovered is one of the best cornerstones of the Steemit community and definitely someone you should allow yourself to be inspired by. I love when artists fully leverage their talent and Steemit rewards them for that. I just followed you @paolajane.
Sweet, glad to have you as a follower!
Congrats on completion!! I know how hard you have been working on this project. It's nice to see your labor of love come to fruition.
