I'm back with yet another of my Scenes From The Road, this time for the pro tier of the Black & White Photo Contest by @derangedcontests. I was in Spences Bridge, BC, just driving along when I spotted an oncoming train and I had just enough time to pull over and make the shot.

This is CN locomotive 8850, which is a model SD70M-2 diesel-electric built by Electro-Motive Diesel (EMD) between 2007 and 2011. Obviously... I'm adding this info for any train freaks who might care. You can get a bunch of info about a locomotive if you look up the engine number. Info on Canadian National trains is available from this source. I should point out that I don't understand a word of it, I'm just out here taking photos, and I think trains look so cool, especially in black and white. Below I have included the full colour version of this shot for comparison.

Thanks, glad you like it!
Goodness! That would be a nerve-wracking stretch of the ride for me. There's no verge between the train and that precipitous drop! Great shot.
Thank you! There are a lot of sections of the highway which are the same. Driving in the mountains can be scary indeed!
