#1 CHOOSE LIGHT EQUIPMENT.

Standing away from the scene and shooting with a teleport lens is not the way to do it. Get as close aa possible to the scene and get mixed in the crowd rather than standing  out, ultimately street photography is about capturing life but not poses.

#2 ALWAYS CARRY YOUR CAMERA

Street photography is spontaneous and waits for no one. It’s a discipline you must practice to make perfect. Your camera is an extension of yourself — it’s your gateway to sharing your vision with the world and you don’t want to miss an amazing photo opportunity by not having your camera on you. If you’re serious about street photography, you will have your camera within reach at all times.

#3 DONT HESITATE TO USE AUTO MODE.

We all as photographer stick to manual mode but with a sudden change in light and a moving subject will cause you trouble with lack of time to change the settings, in these cases quickly switch on to auto mode and it should work pretty well.

#4 SHOOT FROM THE HIP

This has two advantages 1. Avoid awkwardness by standing out in the crowd with camera to your eyes. 2. It's always a great capture when done from the level of subject.

#5 THINK OUT OF THE BOX.

Your subject need not always be a human or animal. If seen with photography eyes every junk is a subject.

#6 CHECK INSTAGRAM HASHTAGS TO SEE HOW OTHERS ARE SHOOTING.

Instagram hashtag search is a great thing to do before going for a shoot, you get an idea about how others are making use of the scenes that you'll also experience somewhere.

#7 DONT SHY AWAY.

To push away the initial shyness, better talk to the person you want click or just let him know that you'll a photograph of him. If youre a beginner to street photography, nothing can be a greater entry than a carnival where number if subject discovery is high and the awkwardness of taking a photograph is seen low.
